Advertorial

Kara is coming to Singapore!

(Ok, I’m not a fan of kpop and probably only listen to a few kpop songs, but after listening to their single “Honey” and some other songs such as “Mister” and “Step”, I think their tunes are catchy enough to put them in my mp3 player.)

The band name Kara comes from the greek word “chara”, which was interpreted as “sweet melody”. It currently consist of 5 members: Park Gyuri, Han Seungyeon, Jung Nicole, Goo Hara and Kang Jiyoung.

Their recent Japanese album titled “Super Girl” was certified platinum within two weeks of release, with sales exceeding 450,000 copies and was the first Kpop group to top Oricon’s weekly singles chart.

In 2012, Kara won 5 awards in the 26th Japan Gold Disc Award which include “Best 3 Albums” and “Best Asian Artist”.

The group will be in Singapore for the KARA Showcase 2012, held at RWS on 10th July 2012. They will also be holding their first fan meeting at Causeway Point on 9th July 2012, in conjunction with the launch of Kara’s fragrance – K5J.

Like a Piece of my Heart

Recently I purchased Shimona Kee’s debut album “Simply Shimona”! Came across Shimona Kee during SBA 2011 when she did a live solo performance and I was captivated by her voice.

This song Like a Piece of my Heart is my latest earworm.

Have you ever left a place or a person and felt like your heart was literally incomplete after?
I guess that’s where the idea of “missing” someone comes from.

The lyrics say it all.

Shadows chase me when I sleep
will they find me when I weep?
Don’t always have the words to say
how I’m feeling anyway…

Cuz I miss you
like a piece of my heart
has fallen out
and left me in the dark,
I think of you
when the rain falls down
and the smell of raindrops
spin me round and round.

It’s quiet now at 3am.
Not a soul around the bend.
I close my eyes imagining
love is once more happening…

You can runaway with me

When the lights go out, will you take me with you?

And carry all these broken bones, through six years down in crowded rooms and highways I call home?

– Summertime, My Chemical Romance

Such beautiful lyrics. It has captivated me for quite a few days. This lovely song was written by the singer Gerard Way to his wife.

In years to come, things wouldn’t be as smooth sailing as we thought it might be. We will be lost, jaded and tired of the so called “life” we define. But there will be someone who is willing to pick us up and walk through this whole journey together.

This song is for you:

Anytime you want. 🙂

Save me from myself

I’m believe at some point of time in a relationship, whether you’re upset or happy, there’s always a song that touched you and describes how you’re feeling right now. Those feelings change, and therefore the songs always change too.

Here’s one that I think that best describes how I’m feeling right now.

This was a song I stumbled upon few years ago, heard it and forget about it.

Now that I’ve reheard it, I think this song is a masterpiece.

More words are unneeded. Thanks boy.
