Products for Clearer Complexion

For Better Skin

It is a non-drying cleanser that is moisturising, and doesn’t leave your skin squeaky clean. Gotta love the awesome citrus smell too!

Similar to the Innisfree Olive Real Cleansing Foam, this cleanser is great for all types of skin. It is moisturising and lathers well too. The only downside of it is the price, which is almost twice as expensive as Innisfree’s cleansing foam.

Forget about hand sanitisers from The Body Shop or Bath and Body Works. This hand sanitiser is great because it is smell great and is moisturising without any stickiness! Not to mention it costs only $2 only!

Since keeping the skin clean is important before you apply any products on your face, don’t forget that you will also need to keep your hands bacterial free too!

For Removing Makeup

The best makeup removers to use whether is it at home or on the go!

The SHU UEMURA POREFINIST ANTI-SHINE FRESH CLEANSING OIL effectively removes any kinds of makeup, including waterproof mascara.

If you want products that are easier to clean up after use, try the LEGERE PERFECT CLEANSING OIL STICK. It shapes itself like a lip balm and also removes makeup with a breeze.

Added Security
Pair it with the BIORE CLEANSING OIL COTTON FACIAL SHEETS or BIODERMA SENSIBIO H2O to sleep with completely makeup free skin when you travel overseas.

For Cleaning Tools

Sure as hell you do not want to use dirty makeup tools on your face right? Well, if that’s the case then you got to clean and sanitise your makeup tools regularly.

Daily Cleansing
The SEPHORA DAILY MAKEUP BRUSH CLEANER is great for daily cleansing and travel use. Just a few sprays of it on the individual tools and swirl around a piece of wet tissue to get the products out from your brushes! It also contains anti bacterial properties so you can be sure your tools are sanitised as well!

Weekly Cleansing
DAISO DETERGENT FOR PUFF AND SPONGE is the best cleanser for making tools and sponges I’ve ever used! It cleans so effectively with just one wash, and my beauty blender is as great as new! The best part of it? It only costs $2!

Top 5 Favourite Products

01 LANEIGE Water Bank Gel Cream_EX

Why I love it? This gel cream is very light and moisturising! It feels heavier than a sleeping mask when I tried it, but it quickly spreads and turns watery. It is also quick in absorption and leaves my skin semi-matte without that sticky feeling!

02 Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid eyeliner

Why I love it? It’s ability to stay on the skin all day due to its smudge-proof formula!

04 LANEIGE White Plus Renew Capsule Sleeping Pack

Why I love it? My favourite to-go sleeping mask! Shaped like a tiny disposable contact lens pack, it is great when you need a quick fix over the night because it’s so easy to slot it anywhere.

  04 Beauty Blender Pure

Why I love it? The classic beauty blender but it’s white! It is suitable for sensitive skin users like me because a white colour beauty blender means there are no dye on this product! It is so soft and great for any liquid/cream products!

05 LANEIGE BB Cushion SPF50+ PA+++

Why I love it? It provides a light coverage with great SPF factor, so it doubles up as my sunscreen for my sensitive skin. When applied on to the skin, there is a cooling sensation and it feels like I’ve slathered some moisturiser onto my skin! It also gives me that dewy Korean look. But most importantly, it does not break me up.

Beauty Talk: Oil in my skincare products, yay or nay?

I have oily/combination skin, therefore I must use an oil-free product.

Does this sound familiar to you?

There has been a misconception that people who suffer from oily skin should use products that are “oil-free”, or not use any products at all.

Countless makeup and skincare gurus have said that oil-free products or non-moisturised face will only cause more oil to be produced as our skin is not hydrated properly.

How does the skin works: The skin itself will in a way, “sense” that the skin is dry and therefore over-produces oil to compensate the lack of hydration, resulting in oilier skin and/or acne.

In Singapore especially, where the weather is ridiculously warm and humid all year round and people are always hiding in air-conditioned rooms, it is important to keep your skin hydrated.

However, using an oil-based product might clog the pores of an oily skin person. So the question is, where do we strike a balance?

Many skincare products these days have moved onto water-based products, which means only a small amount of oil is present. Some products even has water listed as their top ingredient. If you have oily skin, it is wise that you choose a lightweight moisturiser such as a water based moisturiser or gel type.

Bottom Line: Let’s face it. Your skin can’t do without oil and oily skin will get oily throughout the day. However, with a good moisturiser that suits oily skin, your skin will be hydrated and overproducing oil crazily is no longer an issue.

My Favourite Kind of Cleansing Sponge

Sponsored Review

I received a KUU Konjac Sponge from Japalang Pte Ltd approximately four months ago. After months of trying, it is time to review the sponge.

KUU Konjac is a deep cleansing spong made from 100% natural fibre Konjac. Konjac, is a traditional Japanese health food made from a type of potato called “Konnyaku potato” and calcium hydroxide or oxide calcium. 97% of Konjac is water, 3% is Glucomannan and is rich in minerals.

The KUU Konjac Sponge is 100% handmade from konjac vegetable plant root that is extracted from the Konjac potato. It is naturally ph balanced and can be used alone or with a small amount of cleanser.

The one that I received is Natural French Green Clay, specially designed for users with oily or combination skin types. Green Clay is rich in mineral and fine essential oils that help to restore vitality and glow to the skin. It also helps remove impurities and tighten pores at the same time.

The KUU Konjac sponge exfoliates and cleans my skin very gently. I love the green clay smell. Additionally, I only need to use a small amount of cleanser as the design of the sponge helps the cleanser to foam up better.

Sponge Benefits
KUU Konjac sponge also contains no chemical, preservatives, colors or additives, therefore suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin users. It is so gentle that it can also be used on infants’ skins.

All KUU Konjac sponges lasts approximately 3 months. Once the sponge shows signs of breaking down, that means it is time to replace it.

The KUU Konjac sponges are biodegradable, therefore you can add it to the compost heap or plant it under your favorite potted plant.

Where to buy?
The KUU Konjac sponges are available at all BHG stores at S$11.90 each. Alternatively, you can also purchase it at

What’s in my hygiene kit?

I went for my first gym session last Saturday and thought I would share with you the items I brought with me that day!

This kit is built by all the beauty samples that I’ve collected. I find that samples can be very useful when you are going out on a trip and you didn’t want to bring a bag full of heavy beauty products along.

Items in my pouch:
1. 24hr Moisturising Body Lotion by Nuxe
2. Super Washing Foam EX by Dr.Ci:Labo
3. L’Oréal Paris Excellence Fashion Protective Conditioner
4. Aqua Collagen Gel Super Moisture EX by Dr.Ci:Labo
5. Feminine Wash by Sebamed
6. Paul Frank Lip Balm
7. Macadamia Nut Oil for hair
8. Wide tooth comb
9. Kat Von D Roll on Perfume

This is my favourite pouch and it was given to me by my close friend, Jenny on my birthday last year!

Shampoo, body wash and conditioner were provided by the gym. However, I decided to bring along my conditioner because I am still using it for my coloured hair.

Feminine wash is the most important product on the list. You wouldn’t want to skip this after a sweaty workout.

The Kat Von D roll-on perfume is definitely my favourite product on the list. It is easy to apply on, long lasting even after a ride outside, and it smells so good.

I hope readers could also share what you would put in your hygiene kit in the comment box below! 🙂

Cure Summer Party!

So… Cure Summer Party was over for about a month or so and I am now blogging about it because I really love exfoliating gels. They are so gentle and great for daily usage! ❤

Here’s a little background information of Cure Natural Aqual Gel:

For those who frequent Watsons, Cure Natural Aqua Gel is the number 1 facial exfoliant since its launch 5 years ago in Singapore. It is also highly rated in Japan’s leading beauty and health magazines.

Cure Natural Aqua Gel is made of 91% revitalized hydrogen water and natural plant extracts of aloe vera, gingko and rosemary.

Unlike facial scrubs, exfoliant gels are much more gentle as it helps removes dead skin effectively without causing stress to the skin. Hence, it is suitable for daily use!

It also contains no preservatives, fragrance, artificial colorings and alcohol. Hence it is suitable for users of all skin types, even sensitive skin and it can be used on any body parts.

A live demonstration was done during the event itself to show us how effective was the Cure Natural Aqua Gel:

Anyway I’ve been using Cure Natural Aqua Gel for about a month now and I really love it! I always love touching my skin after use because it feels so smoooooth. ❤

Back to the party:

The theme was Summer Party and we had a fun filled afternoon at Sunset Bay Bistro in East Coast Park with Cure!

Can’t remember what exactly the host said to me, but it is probably what I wore that day which made me laughed like that.

She was mentioning that I looked like I’m going to Botanic Gardens instead.

We also played some games that day!

Cure’s team also picked up three finalists, Henry, Ziren and Nelson, for the Dream Cure Boy contest which spanned over the period of 2 weeks.

Ziren won the contest and walked away with a trip to Phuket!

Finally we ended the day with a buffet dinner and a group photo taken at the event.

Thanks Cure and Japalang for the invitation to Cure’s Summer Party!

Cure Natural Aqua Gel can be found exclusively only in Watsons Singapore for the retail price of $49.00.

My Scheming Blackhead Removal Kit

I have new stuff to introduce!

My friend got me this blackhead removal kit from Taiwan.

It is a 3-step pore cleansing set that helps to 1) soften sebum, 2) remove sebum and 3) treat open pores after removal.

This pore cleansing set is very effective against stubborn blackheads. I love the deep sebum softener (step one) because it helps to open up the pores before using the clay mask (step two).

The mask will dry out after 15-30 minutes. When it is completely dried, peel off the mask from the bottom using an upward motion for better result.

Check out how much sebum were being removed!

I used this on a weekly basis after a normal face wash with a cleanser and peeling gel.

I can’t spot any difference after using the pore treatment essence, so I’m not sure how effective it is. But I used it anyway since it is oil free. 😉

Overall, I give this product a 5/5 because I really love it! You can judge how effective this cleanser set is just by observing the amount of junk stuck on the dried clay mask.
